Impacts of Urbanization on Variations of Extreme Precipitation over the Yangtze River Delta

The urbanization process is the hallmark of population’s economic activities and land-use types, including population-, economic-, landscape-urbanization. question how to classify stations into urbanized suburbanized important for detecting contribution rates precipitation extremes. This study used fuzzy c-means clustering method different level by population, economy, impervious surface in Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou urban agglomeration. Based on change trends six extreme indices, extremes were estimated. results show that increasing indices intensity while decreasing duration during 1980–2015. Moreover, high tended have a higher most especially than medium-size cities, indicating leads phenomenon enhancement. three kinds classification methods different, area. paper investigated spatiotemporal changes precipitation, which will provide support development agglomeration future.
